ETHERIDGE, Ian

Ian M. Etheridge was born at Bridge district, Kent in 1962, son of Reginald Etheridge and his wife Shirley née Taft, who married in 1957. Ian studied at Maidstone College of Art, and studied sculpture at Wimbledon School of Art. He opened a studio in Kent and worked as a commercial woodcarver also producing sculpture on commission, at the same time running adult classes in Canterbury. He married at Canterbury in 1987, Maureen O. Sullivan. A sculptor and teacher, he moved to Suffolk in 1996 being based at Felixstowe Road, Ipswich where he spent more of his time on sculpture, church carving and large plasterworks. Included in 'Making the Connection' at Wolsey Art Gallery, Christchurch, Ipswich in 2002. In 2014 he was living at Freshwater, Isle of Wight, Hampshire.
