McCARTHY, Peter

Peter Jonathan McCarthy was born at Southend-on-Sea, Essex in 1955. A mostly self-taught artist but studied Composition of Art at Colchester School of Art, Life Drawing and Childrens Book Illustration at Ipswich School of Art and etching and printmaking at Suffolk College. A professional artist since 1985 working in oils and acrylics on canvas and on board. He has exhibited at Annual Open Exhibition of drawings, Barbican Trust, London; Waterfront Gallery University of Suffolk; Artworks, Cambridge; Smiths Row Art Gallery, Bury St Edmund's; Brighton Art Fair; Aldeburgh Gallery, Suffolk; The Garage Gallery, Aldeburgh; Mall Galleries, London; Ipswich Fine Art Club; Sentinel Gallery, Wivenhoe; the John Russell Gallery, Ipswich and elsewhere.
