Julie Anne Noad was born in the Thurrock district of Essex on 29 October 1955, daughter of Charles Edwin Noad (19 March 1920-3 June 1987), a radio engineer, and his wife Nellie Violet née Vaughan (1922-2017), who married at Thurrock in 1943. On leaving school at 16, Julie studied art at Thurrock College on a two-year Foundation Course and then studied at the Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts 1975-1978 under Anthony Eyton (born 1923) and in 1978 she moved to Suffolk. Julie worked for many years as an illustrator, designing covers for books and magazines including 'Agenda'; 'PN Review'; 'Who's Who in Art' and 'The New English Art Club Exhibitors 1886-2001'. She married in 1980, Richard B. Hamburger and has one son. Julie studied at the Institute of Art and Therapy in Education 1997-2001 taking a master's degree in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy, becoming a UK Council for Psychotherapy registered artist and teacher 2002-2015. As Julie Noad, she exhibits from Turkey Hall, Metfield, Suffolk with solo exhibitions at Chappel Galleries, Essex and John Russell Gallery, Ipswich with mixed exhibitions at South London Gallery; Clock House Arts Association and Forbes Gallery, Suffolk also with Suffolk Open Studios; New English Art Club and The Society of Women Artists both at the Mall Galleries, London; The Roland Goslett Gallery, Richmond and many others venues in Suffolk including Yoxford Gallery; The New Cut, Halesworth; Aldeburgh Gallery; Hunter Gallery, Long Melford and many others. Her work can be found in private collections in the UK, United States of America, Holland, and France.
