Margot Noyes

Margot F. Noyes was born at Fulham, London on 17 August 1939, daughter of Frederick Henry Noyes (9 July 1909-1 June 1974), a furniture van driver, and his wife Margaret Jane née Boot (15 April 1911-22 August 1994), who married at Fulham in 1936 and in 1939 were living at 827 Fulham Road, London. Margot was educated at Fulham County Grammar School and studied at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts 1956-1960 under Robert Medley (1905-1994), Anthony Eyton (born 1923), Patrick Symons (1925-1993) and Henry Inlander (1925-1983). In 1974 she moved to Suffolk teaching at the Lowestoft School of Arts and Crafts and at the Ipswich School of Art. A figurative artist, in oil and a founder member and exhibitor at the Suffolk Group of Artists and has shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions also showing at the Piccadilly Gallery; Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour; the Pastel Society and the New Art Centre. Her solo shows include Aberbach Fine Art; The Embankment Gallery and the Upper St Gallery, all in London; Harvey Road, Guildford; Keswick College, Norwich; Cinema Gallery, Aldeburgh; Halesworth Gallery; Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; D’Arcy Gallery, Ipswich and at Chappel Galleries, Essex. Margot has painted many pictures for film and television productions including 'A Month in the Country' 1986, 'A Hazard of Hearts' 1987 and 'Forever Green' 1990 and donated a work to the 'Westhall Secret Postcard Auction' in 2012 'Lily Patch' and in 2013 an acrylic & pencil 'Garden Pond'. She was married 1960-1984 to artist Lionel Austin and they had a son and a daughter. Former president of the Leicestershire Pastel Society and lived at 51 London Road, Halesworth, Suffolk.
