RENACRE, Marion Louise
Marion Louise Renacre was born at Erpingham, Norfolk on 6 April 1886, daughter of Richard Renacre (1850-16 November 1933), a farmer and later a butcher, and his wife Emily Jane Padfield (1859-23 September 1937), youngest daughter of Thomas Padfield of Vallis Way, Frome, who married at Holy Trinity Church, Frome, Somerset on 23 April 1878. In 1891, Marion was a 5-year-old, living at Halesworth Road, Ringsfield, Beccles, Suffolk with her parents, 41-year-old Richard and 30-year-old Emily with six siblings, Richard Robert 12, Henrietta Emily 10, Mabel Emily 8, Edith Maude 7 all born at Frome, Somerset with Alice Gertrude 3 and Arthur William 1, born at Erpingham, Norfolk. Sometime after 1891, the family moved to Ipswich where in 1901, her father was a butcher at 1 York Villas, Upper Cavendish Street, and in 1911 a butcher at 190 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich when three daughters were clerk typists including 24-year-old Marion. Marion studied at the Ipswich School of Art evening classes, passing examinations 1902-1906 and in 1939, living at 190 Felixstowe Road, with sister Edith Maude (18 January 1884-1 March 1962). Marion was a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1939-1951 but was exhibiting from 190 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich in 1937, two oils 'Anemones' and 'Spring Flowers', in 1941 three paintings, 'Tulips', 'Basket of Flowers' and 'Nasturtiums', in 1942 three works, 'Cottage Blooms', 'Primroses' and 'Pansies', four oils in 1943 'Picked at Random', 'A Bright Selection', 'Lilac' and 'Wild Flowers' and four in 1944, 'Primroses and Polyanthus', 'Wallflowers', 'Varied Blooms' and 'A Child's Bouquet', all flower still life. Marion Louise Renacre was of 6 Cliff Lane, Ipswich when she died at Borough General Hospital, Ipswich on 14 August 1951, aged 65, but her sister Edith continued to live at 6 Cliff Lane, Ipswich, until her death of Brooke House Nursing Home, Henley Road, Ipswich, both were unmarried.
