WATSON, Roy Cecil Rigby

Roy Cecil Rigby Watson was born at Beccles, Suffolk on 7 April 1899 but baptised at Hingham, Norfolk on 22 May 1899, eldest child of Cecil Henry James Watson (26 February 1870-6 February 1954), a chief engineer and later an ironmonger, and his wife Kathleen Rose née Wollard (25 March 1870-1945), daughter of the late George Frederick Wollard, who married at St Andrew's Church, Hingham, Norfolk on 22 June 1898 and in 1921 were living at 132 High Street, Aldeburgh, Suffolk. In 1911, Roy was an 11-year-old, living at 102 Ingate Road, Beccles with his parents, 41-year-old Cecil and 41-year-old Kathleen and his two brothers, Leslie Edward 9 and Kenneth Vernon 3. Roy married in the Plomesgate district of Suffolk in 1925, Kathleen Sybil Hill (15 July 1902-1 July 1958) and in 1939, Roy was a motor engineer, living at Old Mill House, Aldeburgh, Suffolk with his wife Kathleen, a secretary. An honorary member of the Ipswich Art Club 1943-1952 but does not seem to have exhibited. Roy Cecil Rigby Watson died at 508 Norwich Road, Ipswich on 21 January 1956.
