Rosie Perkins

Rosie Perkins was educated at the Mid-Essex School of Art and trained as a teacher in Worcester. She has worked in many educational establishments, including colleges and after-school teacher training, and with Local Authorities for public events and street fairs. Rosie has been running her own puppet company since 1975 which are glove puppets that she makes herself in a variety of materials. She started Puppeteers East and her puppet shows have been performed at parties for young and old, in nursery schools, older people's day centres, open air festivals and has also worked at the Norwich Puppet Theatre and is a member of British Actors' Equity. She is also an artist, printmaker and potter and is currently exploring monotypes/unique prints which are fresh, lively, and spontaneous. Rosie has pictures in art collections in the UK and in Italy, France, New Zealand, and Australia. The countryside of East Anglia has been her home for her whole life and its flora and fauna are an inspiration and joy to her, which is often reflected in her painting and print making. She exhibited from Powney Street, Milden near Sudbury, Suffolk at the 'Visions of Sudbury' show at St Peter's church, Sudbury in 2007 'Sudbury Town Football Stadium' and 'The Kisbys' and in 2009 an acrylic 'Mary's Antiques' and has also exhibited at Great Cornard’s Mill Tye art gallery, near Sudbury.
