Cyndi Speer

As Cynthia Marie Hume, she was born at Ipswich in 1966, daughter of Frank E. G. Hume and his wife Patricia M. née Bush, who married at Devizes, Wiltshire in 1961. Cynthia was educated at Claydon High School near Ipswich and studied at York College of Arts and Technology, gaining a HND Graphic Design in 1986 and at Suffolk New College, Ipswich for her HND Design Communication. A Graphic Designer for British Telecom at Martlesham, Ipswich and married in 1992, James Ryan Speer (born 1962) and as Cyndi Speer is now a professional artist. Cyndi concentrates on the fine art aspect of her career and her paintings, usually oils onto canvas, have historical significance or have developed from the observation of the natural history that are part of her surroundings in Suffolk. From an initial inspiration, swirls of patterns and contrasting tones are built up to create an overall slightly abstracted but enduring image. She has exhibited at Blackthorpe Barn and at the Autumn Exhibition at Stratford St Andrew. Cyndi also exhibits at Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; Kesgrave Arts; Edmund Gallery, Bury St Edmund's; Quay Gallery at Snape Maltings; Sutton Hoo, The Court and Art Space at Woodbridge and other East Anglian art venues. A Member of Suffolk Open Studios from Meadowcroft, Meeting Lane, Grundisburgh, Ipswich, Suffolk which is open by appointment.
