Mrs Oliver Rae was a fabricated pen name with which Mabel signed her etchings, and by which she contrived to convince the art dealers in Oxford and Cambridge to whom she sold them, that she was a man. This seems to have been abandoned as in 1933 she used the title of Mrs Oliver Parker (Rae) in which Rae was bracketed.
