WATTS, Rosamond Georgina Ethel
Rosamond Georgina Ethel Watts was born at Athenry, Co. Galway, Ireland on 29 March 1883, daughter of George Watts, a farmer, who was born in Warwickshire and his wife Ethel, who was born at Freston, Suffolk. In 1891, 8-year-old Rosamond, together with her parents, 28-year-old George and 30-year-old Ethel, with siblings Gladys 6 and Clifford 3, both born in Ireland, were staying with her paternal grandparents at Aberbraint, Llandewen, Anglesey and in 1911 her and her sister Gladys were living with their uncle Col. William Hanning Lee and his family at St Faith's Road, Catton, Norwich. In 1939, Rosamond was unmarried and living 'on private means', at Long Spring, Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk with her married sister Gladys Scadden, née Watts. An associate member of the Ipswich Art Club 1945-1949 and exhibited from Long Spring, Melton in 1944, four pictures 'Walberswick, Suffolk', 'The River Stour near Christchurch', 'Christchurch Priory from the River Stour' and 'Near Port Rush, Co. Antrim, Ireland', in 1945, two pictures 'The Ferry Boat' and 'Springtime' and in 1947 'River Stour' and 'Rocky Coast'. In 1955, she and her sister Gladys Scadden, were living at 'Moyns', Christchurch Road, Virginia Water, Surrey. Rosamond Georgina Ethel Watts was of Long Spring, Melton when she died at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Smithfield, London on 29 January 1959, she was unmarried.
