1919 - 1950

Gordon Albert Watts was born at Paddington, London on 1 January 1919, son of Albert Charles Watts (9 October 1892-1958), gas equipment engineer, and his wife Kate Jeanette née McIntyre (9 October 1894-1954), who married at Paddington in 1917 and in 1821 they were living at 24 Thorngate Road, Paddington, London and by 1939 were living at 20 Hartford Street, Harrow, Middlesex. In 1939, Gordon was an aircraft fitter, boarding at 56 Wellington Street, Slough, Buckinghamshire and married at Ipswich in 1940, Mabel Grace Chaplin (25 March 1912-1977) of 27 Park View Road, Ipswich. A member of Ipswich Art Club 1944-1950 and exhibited from 'Thoreau', Brook Street, Dedham, Essex in 1944, four works 'Freston Tower', 'The Obelisk, Woolverstone Park', 'Stoke by Nayland' and 'St Giles, Norwich' and three paintings in 1946 'Harry King's Boatyard, Pin Mill', 'Wayford Bridge, Norfolk' and 'Brantham Works, near Manningtree'. Gordon Albert Watts died at Willesden, London in 1950.
