REES, Michael

Michael B. Rees was born at Watford, Hertfordshire on 9 August 1962, son of Derek Rees and his wife Anne E. née Doman, who married at Colchester, Essex in 1959 but Michael grew up in Ipswich. Michael married at Ipswich in 1986, artist Tracy Rees née Sheldrick. A self-taught artist in mixed media and a printmaker and first exhibited in Cornwall at the Salthouse Gallery in St Ives in 1988 and has since exhibited at Desmond Fine Art, London; Market House Gallery, Marazion; Badcocks Gallery, Newlyn; Oliver Contemporary, London; Goldfish Contemporary Fine Art, Penzance; Market House Gallery, St Ives and elsewhere and has had mixed exhibitions at several galleries. He has also published several books including 'Paintings, Sculpture and Prints' (1997). He and his wife lived at Ludgvan, Penzance, Cornwall.
