WOLTON, Jacqueline Anne Ellis

1929 - 1989

As Jacqueline Ann Ellis White, she was born at Calcutta, India on 29 September 1929. Jacqueline studied at Heatherley School of Fine Art until her marriage at Kensington, London in 1952 to Martin Fry Wolton (9 May 1928-25 February 2007), when they then lived abroad at St Helena, Ascension, Cocoas, Christmas Island and Fiji. Jacqueline worked in oil, pastel and watercolour, selling her work to Australian Museums from her then home in Fiji. On her husband's retirement, they purchased a property at Felixstowe, Suffolk from where she was a member of the Ipswich Art Club and exhibited from 5 Beatrice Avenue, Felixstowe in 1977, 'Corn with Honesty' and was a regular exhibitor including 'September Evening', 'Blue Tits-Nest in Bird-bowl' and 'Blaxhall, Elm', she also exhibited at the Royal Academy and showing at galleries in Aldeburgh and Woodbridge in Suffolk. Jacqueline Ann Ellis Wolton was of 5 Beatrice Avenue, Felixstowe when she died at Wandsworth, London on 3 April 1989.
