Rachel Celia Green was born in a small village near Bury St Edmund's in Suffolk in 1984, daughter of David G. Green and his wife Clare M. née Nicholls, who married at Bury St Edmund's in 1982. Rachel studied at Falmouth College of Art, from where she graduated with a first-class honour's degree in illustration in 2007. Rachel uses a combination of drawing, paint, and collage which she then manipulates digitally to create delicate, whimsical illustrations. A member of the Ipswich Art Society and exhibited from Mill Cottage, Benhall Green, Saxmundham, Suffolk in 1990, four pictures 'Morning Glory', 'Sunflower', 'Aura Interwreathe' and 'Blue Poppies' and in 1997 exhibited from Yew Tree Cottage, The Street, Peasenhall, Suffolk 'New Dawn'. Rachel is now a professional freelance illustrator represented by Advocate Art Illustration Agency and her clients include The Guardian Weekend Magazine, Amelia’s Magazine, Magpie Magazine, Portfolio 5 and Oh Comely Magazine and she has exhibited in Falmouth, London, and Bath. Rachel now resides in Southeast London with her husband Jonathan.
