As Valerie F. Livermore, she was born at Danbury Essex in 1942, daughter of Frank Livermore (14 February 1909-24 February 1969), an index clerk, and his wife Marjorie Ann née Poulter (29 July 1908-23 December 1996), who married at Maldon, Essex in 1936 and in 1939, were living at 10 Upland Court Road, Hornchurch, Essex. As Valerie Young, she married at Braintree, Essex in 1990, Bruce Bonnett and paints under the name of Valerie Bonnett. Valerie completed a diploma in Art and Design at Colchester Institute and commenced work, teaching art in primary and adult education and had further study at Colchester in the 1990s. Now a professional artist, Valerie works from a life model and paints from sketches in her studio at 'Greengages', Angel Hill, Norwich Road, Earl Stonham. Stowmarket, Suffolk. Her expressive paintings, abstracted from the human form, landscapes, music and dance and saturated colour, motivates her work in oil and mixed media. A member of the Ipswich Art Society and of the Colchester Art Society, she has exhibited at Coach House Coffee Shop Gallery, Brightlingsea, Essex; Harleston Gallery, Norfolk; John Stevens Gallery, Hadleigh; Minories, Colchester; Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh; Digby Gallery at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester; Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; Rhodes Centre Museum Gallery, Bishops Stortford and Suffolk Open Studios at Wolsey Gallery, Ipswich and Aldeburgh Cinema Gallery, and many other venues.
