Moyra Scott

As Moyra Anne Chestnutt, daughter of artist Judith Chestnutt. Moyra grew up in Suffolk and was educated at Kesgrave near Ipswich followed by the Ipswich Northgate Grammar School. She then studied English and French at the University of Sussex, gaining a B.A. and spent a year at the Sorbonne in Paris. She married in the Deben district of Suffolk in 2005, Ian Scott and works under the name of Moyra Scott. Henri Matisse inspires Moyra's later works and she is an observational artist showing people absorbed in their lives, in cafes, reading, travelling, waiting using fluid movements, and marking the paper as little as possible, her observational line drawings capture the essence of her subjects. A member of Suffolk Open Studios and is part of the Chestnutt Studio at Annesley House, Boot Street, Great Bealings, Woodbridge in Suffolk.
