Frank Gray

Frank Arnold Gray was born in Blackpool in October 1956. He studied at the University of Leeds 1974–1978 obtaining a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Frank had no formal training in painting, his works are mostly non-figurative and feature water and are imagined and is best known as a landscape painter having his first solo exhibition in Manchester in 1982. He married at Camden, London in 2001, Deborah Ann McKay and had a studio at September Barn, Kiln Farm Lane, Rickinghall, Suffolk. After 14 years living in Suffolk, together with his film producer wife Debbie, in 2012 they moved to Bernard House Barn, 4 Back Lane, Great Bircham, King's Lynn, where he had convenient access to the wonderfully varied Norfolk coast and now paints the subject which he had previously invented. In Norfolk he has focused more towards photography, learnt through photographer friends and, more recently, Frank has exhibited across East Anglia including St Margaret’s Church, Norwich; Haga, Bury St Edmund's; Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; The Corn Exchange, Harleston and at Salford City Art Gallery; Mall Galleries, London; Walkden Art Gallery, Greater Manchester; The Sheen Gallery, East Sheen; West Bank Gallery, Notting Hill, London; Grierson Gallery, Sevenoaks, Kent and elsewhere.
