CRAKE, Anthony

Anthony Harold Crake was born at 107 Brampton Road, Cambridge on 8 April and baptised on 16 May 1942, son of Harold William Crake (26 April 1916-11 February 1999), a printer compositor at Clowes of Beccles, and his wife Constance Winifred née Bray (15 December 1916-1997), who was of 22 Fair Close, Beccles when they married at St Barnabas, Cambridge on 20 January 1940. Anthony married at Beccles in 1967, Gwendoline Beynon, later Bedingfield. A member and exhibitor at the Beccles Society of Artists from 77 Ellough Road, Beccles, Suffolk 1977-1990. In 1993 a folio of four of his watercolours were sold at auction and in the following year his watercolours 'Norfolk Wherries on Breydon Water' and 'St Benet's Abbey' were on offer. He was still living at Beccles in 2022.
