Andrew Gibson

Andrew Gibson was born around 1977. He graduated in Visual Communication, specialising in illustration, from Edinburgh College of Art in 2005. After relocating from Scotland to Suffolk, in 2006 he won the Ip-art award for visual art, which led to his first solo exhibition ‘Cornhill’. A digital artist & illustrator and his personal style has been developed through a process of traditional pencil drawing, sampled textures and digital colouring and his artwork continues to evolve alongside his illustration work and he has successfully exhibited throughout the Eastern region and beyond. Since 2006 he has been working as a freelance illustrator, his clients include 'The Big Issue' London, 'The Folio Society', 'MacUser' magazine, 'Nursing Standard Magazine', 'Cricket Magazine' and 'Waitrose Food Illustrated'. His other exhibitions include D&AD New Blood Exhibition, Old Billingsgate, London; Key Arts Group at St-Mary-at-the-Quay, Ipswich; Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich; Horace Blue, Lower Goat Lane, Norwich; The Artworks Gallery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne; Electric House Ipswich; London College of Communication; Young Artists of the Year, Biscuit Factory, Newcastle-upon-Tyne; AOI Images 36 Exhibition, Somerset House, London; Suffolk Showcase, Smiths Row, Bury St Edmund's and elsewhere. He and his wife Gemma [Hackett] live at Thurston, Bury St Edmund's.
