IVES, Leonard George
Leonard George Ives was born at 60 Haylings Road, Leiston, Suffolk on 11 October 1911, son of Alfred Ives (4 June 1883-30 April 1957), an engineer, and his wife Mabel Ethel née Smith (11 June 1887-23 July 1971), who married at Leiston in 1909 and in 1939 were living at 77 King George Avenue, Leiston-cum-Sizewell. Leonard was a police constable, and he married at Leiston, Suffolk in 1939, an Ipswich girl, Joyce Sarah Millicent Turner (2 December 1912-20 January 2008) and in 1939 they were living at Hollesley Police Station, Suffolk. Leonard painted a portrait of Jumbo Fiske, a skipper out of Lowestoft. Leonard George Ives died in the Great Yarmouth district on 31 December 1998.
