SHIPLEY, Archie
Archie Shipley was born at Bungay, Suffolk on 28 September 1913, youngest child of Stephen Ernest Shipley (30 May 1875-1948), a maltster's labourer, and his wife Margaret Ann née Veasy (2 May 1873-1952), who married at Gisleham, Suffolk on 20 June 1898. In 1939, Archie was an unmarried iron moulder, living at 74 Broad Street, Bungay, Suffolk with his parents and eldest sister Alice May (11 February 1900-1970). Archie married at Wainford, Essex in 1944, Kathleen M. High (2 May 1915-2012). A member and exhibitor at the Beccles Society of Artists 1977-1990. Archie Shipley lived at 51 Pleasant Place, Beccles, Suffolk and died on 26 June and buried in Beccles Cemetery on 3 July 1991, aged 77.
