WATSON, Janet

1959 - ?

Janet Watson was born in London in March 1959. Janet studied as a mature student for a degree and then for a master's in fine art at Norwich School of Art (now NUCA). A bookbinder/printmaker working from her studio at The Old School House, School Lane, Hollesley, Suffolk, overlooking and inspired by the Suffolk Coast at Shingle Street. Her books are hand bound and sewn and she prints linocut images onto calico covers using an Albion type hand press. Her images are available as prints as well as on note/sketch books. A former member of the Suffolk Open Studios, her work is on display and for sale at The Aldeburgh Book Shop, Ejart Creative and ‘Browsers’ Bookshop in Woodbridge and Craft Co in Southwold, all in Suffolk and she exhibits at The Norwich Print Fair. A former director of the Bury St Edmund's Art Gallery Trust.
