RIZZO, Clare

As Clare E. Waitt, she was born at Hereford in 1965, daughter of Roger H. F. Waitt (1936-) and his first wife Diane E. née Walker, who married at Kensington, London in 1962. Clare originally qualified as an architect. She married at Folkestone, Kent in 2005, Michael John Rizzo and paints under the name of Clare Rizzo and they moved to Suffolk. Clare lived at Kesgrave, Ipswich with her husband and began painting again after starting a family. She uses watercolour but is also using oils, her aim is to paint ever more freely being drawn to painting buildings in their setting which, with her love of the sea, often culminates in coastal paintings. Clare has exhibited in local galleries including Taplin Gallery and the Fraser Gallery both in Woodbridge; Coastal Gallery at Felixstowe Ferry; Wildwood Gallery in Bury St Edmund's; Pond Gallery and The Workshop Gallery both at Snape Maltings; Upstairs Gallery in Beccles and at 'Art on the Prom' at Felixstowe and is a member of the Suffolk Open Studios. She now lives at Hasketon, Woodbridge, Suffolk. The author of 'Suffolk Coast in Watercolour' (2012).
