ALEXANDER, Zangmo
Zangmo Alexander grew up in Hove, Sussex and studied at Brighton University obtaining a Further & Adult Teaching Certificate in 1987, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, University of Cambridge 1988 and a B.A. (hons.) Fine Art Painting in 1991 before taking her Master's Degree in Fine Art at Norwich University in 2007. Originally trained as a painter and since 1984 has made art a path of self-exploration and self-discovery and in 2007, after ordination as a nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, took a 5-year Mahamudra Meditation Course in Tibetan Tradition 2006-2011. A qualified art teacher and creativity coach with over 30 years' experience in colleges, schools and the community also offering personalised, one-to-one, and small group creative sessions, retreats and breaks helping individuals free and develop their authentic creative voice in the visual arts. An artist, maker, publisher, and lecturer, who uses drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, video, performance, and writing, working in oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolour, and mixed media which are abstract in that they do not represent anything physical. Her studio is at Botesdale, Suffolk on the borders with Norfolk.
