Kimberly Godfrey

Kimberly Godfrey is originally from Seattle, Washington where she studied portraiture and design. After art school, Kimberley spent time as a freelance make-up artist working in photography and as a costume designer. A freelance artist who came to England in 2000 and was based at 72 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk with her husband Peter. Her education in visual communications and costume design enabled her to develop the glamorous, stylised graphics which have now become her calling card. Kimberly's paintings are infused with both cinematic drama and mystery, are deeply connected to the past and her love of history, which combined with her interest in early cinema & film noir, are the basis that shapes the form and function in her work. Kimberly combines watercolour, liquid acrylic and ink to create edgy portraits with a hint of cinematic drama and nostalgic atmosphere and has exhibited at the Bury St Edmund's Art Society also at Smiths Row Art Gallery; Art Walk, Nicola Sexton; Apex Gallery all in Bury St Edmund's and at The Arts Lounge, Swaffam, Norfolk and a former member of Suffolk Open Studios from her studio at her home in Bury St Edmund's. Her paintings can be viewed at Larkview Studio overlooking the River Lark in Suffolk by appointment only.
