Philip Cunningham was born at West Ham, Essex in 1948, son of Arthur Cunningham (27 August 1914-21 June 1992) and his wife Alice Maud née Brown (9 January 1914-8 December 2007), who married at Stepney, London in 1938. Philip studied at Ravensbourne School of Art and was an art teacher, mostly in East London for over 25 years. A painter, printmaker, wood carver also works in stained glass and ceramics. A founder member of Mellis Arts from The Old Chapel, Earlsford Road, Mellis, Eye, Suffolk. See also Sally Tyley.
