Helen Armstrong Bland, as Helen C. Jones, she married at North Tyneside in 1988, Kingsley John Armstrong, and they have a son, Thomas Oliver Armstrong, Helen now works under the name of Helen Armstrong-Bland. Helen graduated with a B.A. (hons) degree in Fine Art and has an adult education teaching certificate and completed Advanced Printmaking at the Curwen Print Study Centre, Cambridge which covered all traditional printmaking processes, and has a master's degree, Art Design and the Book, from Colchester. A former art teacher working in a Suffolk High School but now teaches privately for 'Suffolk Coastal Leisure Learning', within her Ipswich studio, also working part-time at the Southwold Gallery and is part of the Sudbourne Park Printmakers Co-operative. With a background in Fine Art, installation and printmaking, working mostly in paint, mixed media and print, her work attempts to accommodate in 'format', the work or story emerging which often dictates the outcome. She also accepts work on commission. Helen is a member of Suffolk Open Studios from her studio at Farm View Studios, Curlew Green, Kelsale, Saxmundham, Suffolk and has exhibited throughout the UK and internationally.
