WICKHAM, Frederick
Frederick Wickham was born at Bermondsey, London on 30 March 1862, son of John Wickham, millwright, and his wife Ann née Izzard, who married at St Mary Magdalene, Cowden, Sevenoaks, Kent on 22 December 1845. In 1871, Frederick was a 19-year-old undergraduate-at-law, living at 43 Queen Elizabeth Street, Horleydown, Southwark, London with his parents, 59-year-old John and 56-year-old Ann, with two sibling brothers, Charles 26 and Arthur 23. Frederick married at Camberwell, London in 1885, Emily Hogg (1861-20 September 1915) and in 1891, a 29-year-old 'clerk grade 1 civil service', living at Hillsboro Road, Camberwell with his 29-year-old wife Emily and 4-year-old daughter Ethel Mary, who was born at Dulwich, London. Frederick was a landscape painter who exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Ipswich Art Club in 1941, two works 'On the Brittany Coast' and 'Suffolk Landscape' and two in 1942 'St Paul du Var, Alpes Maritimes' and 'The Green, Grundisburgh'. His wife died in 1915 and in 1939, Frederick was a widower and retired civil servant living at Cobbold's Mill, Monks Eleigh, Suffolk, the home of Leon Jones. Frederick Wickham died at 4 Holly Lodge Gardens, Highgate, London on 15 January 1948.
