ADCOCK, Colleen Marie

Colleen Marie Adcock was born at Leicester in 1966, daughter of Alan C. A. Adcock (born 1942) and his wife Cynthia Marian née Mee (19 September 1942-1 July 2016), who married at Leicester in 1961. Colleen studied at Loughborough College of Art and Design during the mid 1980s, continuing her studies at the Suffolk College of Art in Ipswich where she now lives. Her early work focused on urban landscapes with a particular fascination for industrial skylines. After a lengthy absence she has returned to painting with renewed passion and, inspired by artists such as Mark Rothko (1903-1970) and Pierre Soulages (1919-2022), is producing much larger, bolder abstract pieces, packed with texture and colour.
