REDGRAVE, James

1778 - 1853

James Redgrave was baptised at Lowestoft St Margaret's Church on 17 August 1778, youngest child of John Redgrave and his wife Mary née Shouldham, who married at Oulton, Suffolk on 19 February 1763. James married Mary, daughter of John Bly and they had issue. A flower painter at the Lowestoft Porcelain Works. On the closure of the Porcelain Works he became a shipwright and in 1851 was living at Infirmary Plain, Church Road, Lowestoft with his son-in-law, James Crow and his family. James Redgrave was buried at St Margaret's Lowestoft on 24 February 1853.
