Laura Beardsell-Moore

Laura Michelle Beardsell was born at Thurrock, Essex in November 1978, daughter of Stephen Charles Beardsell and his wife Margaret V. née Spear, who married at Thurrock in 1972. Laura grew up in the small village of Elmsett, near Hadleigh, in Suffolk. She studied at the Winchester School of Art, gaining a B.A. (hons), Art and History of Art in 2001, followed by a master's degree in Contemporary Art, Criticism and Philosophy at the University of Essex in 2004. Laura has worked as an art teacher for GCSE and 'A' level students, a lecturer for B.A. (hons) Fine Art students and, until a few years ago, was a member of the Association of Art Historians. Her work is influenced by the natural world, often exploring environmental themes. She has exhibited at the Ipswich Art Society; The Frame Workshop & Gallery, Ipswich; The Freudian Sheep Gallery, Ipswich; The 1912 Centre, Harwich, Essex; Ipswich Interpretations, Kerseys Solicitors, Ipswich and elsewhere with a solo exhibition at Woodbridge Library, Suffolk in 2016. She has also exhibited at Felixstowe Art on the Prom with Wivenhoe, Essex artist Margriet van Nieuwburg.
