READ, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Read was born at Fore Street, Framlingham, Suffolk on 10 July 1861, second daughter of Francis Read (1839-28 February 1922), a leather seller, and his wife Jane née Boon (1839-1932), who married at Brandeston, Suffolk in 1859. In 1891, Elizabeth was a 28-year-old artist, living at Fore Street, Framlingham, with her parents, 51-year-old Francis and 51-year-old Jane with her two siblings, Anna Maria 30 and Jonathan Boon 28. In 1901, a 38-year-old art teacher, still living at the same address with her parents, with two more siblings Bessie 33 and Francis 25 but by 1921 a 59-year-old shop assistant, still living with her parents at Fore Street, Framlingham. In 1939 she was living at Station Road, Framlingham with her brother Jonathan (8 September 1863-1944), a retired fellmonger. Elizabeth Read died at 56 Station Road, Framlingham on 31 May 1940, she was unmarried.
