ORRISS, Brian
Brian Orriss was born at Colchester, Essex in 1933, son of John William Orriss (1905-26 October 1964) and his wife Mary Ann Peggy née Foster (29 November 1912-2003), who married at Colchester in 1930. Brian married at Colchester in 1957, Margaret Evelyn Utting (8 April 1936-19 August 2005) and in 1952 they moved to Polstead, near Sudbury, Suffolk. An artist in a preferred medium of oil and he travelled the local countryside and cycled through France and even went to Australia on painting tours, capturing local landscapes, seascapes, and townscapes. Chairman of the Polstead Art Group, he exhibited from 'Coppers', White Street Green, Polstead, Suffolk at the 'Visions of Sudbury' show at St Peter's church, Sudbury in 2007 'Sudbury Market'. Brian Orriss died on 17 August 2014, aged 80.
