PERCY, Sidney Richard
Sidney Richard Percy Williams was born in London on 22 March 1822, the fifth son of the painter Edward Williams and his wife Ann née Hildebrandt (1780-1851), who married at St Pancras Old Church on 12 February 1806. Sidney was a member of the Williams family of painters who, from about the age of 20, to differentiate himself from the other artists in his family, used the surname of 'Percy'. As Sidney Richard Percy, he exhibited at Suffolk Fine Arts Association at Ipswich in 1850, three works 'A Quiet Vale', 'A Bright Day on the Thames' and 'View in Knowle Park, Kent'. Sidney Richard Percy Williams married at Barnes Parish Church on 30 June 1857, Emily Charlotte Fairlam (1835–1904) and they had four children. They lived at Florence Villas, Inner Park Road, Wandsworth, Surrey, and about 1863 moved to Hill House, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. Sidney Richard Percy Williams died at Sutton, Surrey on 13 April 1886.
