MASTERMAN, Julia

Julia Elaine Masterman was born in January 1972, she is married to Phillip Michael Masterman. Julia studied at Norwich University of the Arts and has had a lengthy career in arts education, teaching life drawing, portraiture and working in a variety of different secondary schools. Part of her professional practice has been to curate exhibitions and organise arts events to support local artists. An artist in a variety of media including oil, mixed media, drawing and printmaking, her subject matter includes landscape, with the changing colour and light within nature are ephemeral which creates her starting point. A member of the March Hare Collective and as Julia Masterman, works from Covell Close, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. She has exhibited at Norwich University of the Arts; Ickworth House, Suffolk; Apex Gallery and The Lounge Café, Hatter Street in Bury St Edmund's; Botswana National Museum and Art Gallery and elsewhere.
