As Carrol A. Clark, she was born at Uxbridge, Middlesex in 1947, daughter of Charles Clark and his wife Joyce née Holmes, who married at Uxbridge in 1946. Carrol married at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1972, Trevor J. Sadler (born 1944) and paints under the name of Carrol Sadler. After returning to her love of art, as a mature student Carrol achieved an Art ‘A’ level at King Edward VI Upper School in Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. A member of a small Art Group, initially based in the Suffolk town of Needham Market and then in the village of Brettenham and, tutored by local Ipswich based artist Ed Cooper, Carrol developed her own loose style of oil painting, experimenting with different subject matter, turning charity shop soft toys into ‘Divas’, using background collage to personalise pictures and giving landscapes a sense of mystery and magic. She exhibited at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk.
