EYE ARTS GUILD
An initial meeting was held on 12 January 1982 for like-minded creatives who enjoyed getting together to practise their craft and founded the Eye Arts Guild. They aim to extend members' skills and knowledge through regular practice sessions, evening lectures, workshops, and trips to Art Galleries. They currently (2020) have around fifty members drawn from all local social groups and through all abilities, and they meet on a weekly basis to share the pleasure of drawing and painting in each other's company. The club is run by the members, taking turns to organise morning sessions and share the administration involved with setting up both summer and winter programmes with a working committee at an Annual General Meetings in the Spring. There is an annual exhibition of works, many of which are for sale.
