WOOD, Ailsa
Ailsa Joan Wood was born at Norwich on 23 February 1922, elder of the two daughters of Aubrey George Wood (22 March 1890-6 September 1967), a bank official, and his wife Bessie née Hope (3 December 1890-2 December 1985), who married at Mutford, Suffolk in 1919. As Miss Ailsa Wood, aged 13, she exhibited at the Ipswich Art Society in 1935, from 35 Lattice Avenue, Ipswich, one painting 'On top o' the World'. In 1939, a student, living at 33 Lattice Avenue, Ipswich with her parents Aubrey and Bessie. Ailsa married at Worthing, Sussex in 1952, Denys Herbert William Hampton (30 January 1923-28 May 2000). Ailsa Joan Hampton died at Leicester on 18 August 1998.
