Federico Baca was born in in Argentina and spent his days growing up connected with nature in the foothills of the Andes. Following a degree in graphic design in Buenos Aires he is now a full-time artist working with print, paintings, and mixed media. Federico has travelled extensively including to Europe via Moscow, India, Nepal and the Far East and, after a time with a garden studio in Leytonstone, East London, and living in the Suffolk countryside at Trundalls, Water Lane, Denston is now living in Cambridge and a member of both the Cambridge and Suffolk Open Studios. Federico has eclectic interests, with a flexible approach to his work that involves printmaking, drawing, painting, and other mixed media responses. Through his travels, was inspired by nature and diverse artists including Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000), Xul Solar (1887-1963), Antony Gormley (born 1950), Italo Calvino (1923-1985) and Jan Švankmajer (born 1934). He has exhibited at Stour Studio at Clare Country Park Centre, Suffolk; Southbank Printmakers, London; Fountain Gallery, Hampton Court; Aeon Gallery, Hampstead; and elsewhere. He has also illustrated 'Pip the Pony' by Zandra Johnson (2012).
