John Freer graduated from Loughborough University College of Art and Design in 1978 with a B. Ed with Creative Design. After the retirement of Bernard Reynolds and the death of Guido Belmonte the sculpture provision at the Ipswich School of Art was developed by David Baldry and John Freer in the Ipswich School of Art & Design at the Suffolk College, Ipswich. John's own work is now mainly figurative sculpture, concentrating on the female form to produce hanging pieces or garden sculptures in plaster, clay, bronze, and reconstituted stone. He has work in private collections in England, America, Czech Republic, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.
