Rob Wheeler

Robert John Wheeler studied at Brighton School of Art and at the Ipswich School of Art in the 1970s, under majolica specialist Ian Crook. Rob's work has its roots in nature with the forms and texture, often taking their inspiration from fossils and sea-life. Classic Chinese forms such as baluster vases also have an influence with most of this work being produced in white earthenware and then put through the Raku process. Some of the more sculptural work is fired to stoneware. He also produces a variety of domestic earthenware to order including commemorative slipware plates. Rob has exhibited widely in the UK and Europe in both mixed and one man shows and shows at the Walsham Arts & Crafts Group. He gives classes in pottery/ceramics from his studio at Miller's Arch, Finningham Road, Walsham le Willows, Suffolk.
