Jane Ellen Kirby is a retired teacher who specialised in Special Education Needs. Since her retirement, she enjoys art and music, playing the saxophone and performs locally in support charities also playing recorders with the Eastern Recorder Orchestra. Ellen paints and draws using charcoal, watercolour and acrylic being inspired by the Suffolk coastline, the shells and driftwood. Living in woodland she enjoys painting scenes with trees and fields. Ellen attends art groups in Martlesham, Ipswich and studies life drawing with various groups, and paints for Macmillan, raising funds for their invaluable services. A full member of Suffolk Open Studios from her studio at The Barn, The Old Rotary Club, Newbourne Road, Martlesham, Ipswich.
