PEARSON, Mary
Adelaide Mary Anne Pearson was born at Henley Vicarage, near Ipswich on 10 August 1850 and baptised at Henley St Peter on 7 October 1860, second child and eldest daughter of Revd Henry Pearson (1818-5 May 1894), vicar of Henley, and his wife Adelaide Catherine née Carter (1830-27 October 1921), who married at Mundesley, Norfolk on 14 April 1857. In 1881, young Adelaide. was a 20-year-old, living at Henley Vicarage with her parents, 60[sic] year old Henry and 50-year-old Adelaide, and siblings William Carter 22 and Isabel Emma 15. As Mary Pearson, she exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club from Henley Vicarage, near Ipswich in 1881, a watercolour ‘View in Bruges’ and in 1882 another watercolour 'Henley Church' and although listed in 1883 had nothing in the show. She married at Henley on 4 July 1888, Revd Robert Copeman (9 October 1858-2 June 1939) of Dunham Lodge, Norfolk, and in 1911, a 50-year-old living at Stoke Albany Rectory, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, with her 52-year-old husband Robert, a clerk in holy orders, and their 21-year-old daughter, Agatha Mary, born at Fordingbridge, Hampshire, of their three surviving of four children. By 1921 they had moved to Sandy, Tetworth, Huntingdonshire. Adelaide Mary Anne Copeman died at The End House, Owlstone Road, Cambridge on 14 March 1936, aged 75.
