Tracy Hetherington

Tracy L. Hetherington studied at the University for the Creative Arts at Farnham graduating B.A. (hons) in Fine Art, the Norwich University of the Arts for her master's degree and at Reading University for her Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Tracy is fascinated by the activity of exploring the properties of materials with drawing and photography as part of the creative process and with the tactile qualities of materials and sculptural forms. Being inspired by walks through Suffolk and with an interest in marine life and the ocean, creative responses incorporate abstracted forms based on surface, structure, and texture. She incorporates textiles in her work with techniques such as felt making, knit, crochet, print, dye, and stitch. Found objects often serve as starting points for developing ideas and may form a part of finished works and photography has always been a part of her work in capturing forms and compositions, as well as a visual element incorporated in the form of print in textile works. A Framlingham, Suffolk based artist, is currently teaching art, textiles, and photography across a range of age groups and deliver workshops both in schools and privately. She exhibits at Ejart Creative, Woodbridge; Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk and elsewhere.
