FACER, Pauline

1924 - 2020

As Pauline Frances Steer, she was born at Spalding, Lincolnshire in 1924, younger daughter of Alfred Ernest Steer (31 August 1895-18 May 1979), an auctioneer's cashier, and his wife Ethel née Johnstone (21 July 1895-29 February 1976), who married at Chorlton, Lancashire on 3 April 1920 and in 1939 were living at 9 Priory Road, Spalding, Lincolnshire. Pauline married at Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire in June 1947 Jack Facer (24 August 1915-16 October 2000) and they went to live in Trinidad, W.I. Pauline travelled the world with her husband, a scientist in the oil industry, wherever they were posted her husband had a studio set up in advance for her. She latterly lived and painted at Aldeburgh, Suffolk from where she exhibited at the Royal Academy also showing at the Atelier Gallery. Pauline Frances Facer died on 21 November 2020.
