ENGLEFIELD, Alison

As Alison K Duff, she was born Derby in 1951, daughter of William Duff and his wife Kathleen Ida née Roe who married at Derby Registry Office in 1950. Alison married at Nottingham in 1978, Peter Brian Englefield and works as Alison Englefield. Alison studied printed textile design at Derby and Nottingham gaining a City & Guilds certificate in Appreciation of Colour and Design. In 1998 she moved to St Just, West Penwith, Cornwall and in 2000 purchased The Old Sunday School Studio with her partner, filmmaker Clare Calder-Marshall, managing the business side of the gallery and teaching venue. She exhibited widely and assisted often with community art projects and Alison's illustrations were used for Melissa Hardie's Millennium history of the town of Penzance. Around 2005, the partners moved to Lavenham in Suffolk, where they owned and managed the Crooked House Gallery at 7 High Street.
