Carolyn H Herries was born in Ipswich and studied at Ipswich School of Art, the Maidstone College of Art and at the Royal College of Art. She works in a wide variety of mediums, and has illustrated books for various publishers including Hamish Hamilton, Ward Lock, Mammoth Books, and most recently, Salmon Poetry in Ireland. and has her own greeting card company, Hallo Cards, which have become well known both in the UK and abroad. Carrie has exhibited in the South of France where she lived and worked early in her career and in galleries throughout East Anglia including a series of exhibitions in Suffolk at Walberswick and Southwold and her work is held in numerous private collections in Britain, Europe, and America.
