BEAUMONT, George
George Beaumont was baptised at Mendham All Saints Church, Suffolk on 14 August 1836, eldest son of James Beaumont (1806-5 March 1887), a farmer, and his wife Maria née Gidney (1800-3 September 1880), who married at Mendham on 7 October 1834, he was a brother to Emma Beaumont. In 1861, a 24-year-old farmer’s son, living at Cranmore House Farm, Westgate Street, Long Melford, Suffolk with his parents, 55-year-old James, born Flixton, Suffolk and 60-year-old Maria, born Mendham. George married at Monks Eleigh, Suffolk on 25 March 1863, Jane Agnes Strutt, only daughter of James Strutt of Monks Eleigh. In 1881, a 44-year-old farmer of 360 acres, living at Farmhouse, Langley, Norfolk with his 39-year-old wife Jane and 17-year-old daughter Nellie Jane Strutt Beaumont. He exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club, from 34 Marine Parade, Lowestoft in 1884, five watercolours 'Wild Flowers Disturbed', 'Retriever and Pheasant', 'Spaniel and Teal', 'Retriever and Mallard', 'Retriever and Heron' and two monochromes 'Langley Church and Grange' and 'Gipsy Encampment' and in 1885 one painting 'Fritton Lake, Looking East'. After which George and his wife disappear, but daughter Nellie died at Boulogne, France in 1893.
