BOOTH, Edith Jane
Edith Jane Booth was born at Ipswich in 1867 and baptised at St Mary Elms Church, Ipswich on 25 April 1867, second daughter and third child of David Henry Booth (1830-22 January 1887), a coal merchant, and his wife Jane née Radford (1833-23 May 1896), who married at St Pancras, London in 1855, Edith's brother was William Henry Booth. In 1871, Edith was a 4-year-old, living at 3 Museum Street, Ipswich with her parents, 41-year-old John Henry and 37-year-old Jane, with siblings Eleanor 13 and William 9 and by 1881 they had moved to Hembridge House, Anglesea Road, Ipswich, with a governess and four servants. A member of the Ipswich Fine Art Club 1883-1890 where she exhibited in 1883 ‘A Study'. She married at St Matthew's Church, Ipswich on 28 October 1891, Robert Beaumont Bond (1858-2 July 1928), an auctioneer & land agent, eldest son of Robert Bond of Tattingstone Place, Ipswich. In 1901 she was living at Red House, Sproughton, Ipswich with her 42-year-old husband and their 7-year-old daughter Edith. Edith Jane Bond lived at 'Cormac', 51 Anglesea Road, Ipswich and died at the home of her sister-in-law, Emily Florence Booth, at 'Highwood', Constitution Hill, Ipswich on 16 February 1947, aged 79.
