YOUNGMAN, Ada Cornelia
Ada Cornelia Youngman was born at Islington, London in 1864, daughter of Cornelius Tipple Youngman (10 December 1825-9 April 1873), a farmer, and his wife Louisa Rebecca née Elliott (1841-24 September 1876), who married at Bermondsey, London in 1859. In 1871, Ada was living with her mother at Millgate Lane, Didsbury, Lancashire but later lived with her aunt at The Dowches, High Street, Kelvedon, Essex. A landscape painter in oil and a member of Ipswich Art Club 1884-1890 and exhibited from Dowches House, Kelvedon in 1884, two works 'A Castle on the Rhine' and 'Now comes Still Evening', in 1889 'An Afternoons Sport on the Blackwater', in 1890 'Bradwell' and in 1891 'Berisal' she is listed as an exhibitor in other years, but nothing was on show. Ada Cornelia Youngman was of Dowches House, Kelvedon, where she was engaged in the Royal Gunpowder Factory, when she died at Waltham Abbey, Essex, on 18 December 1916, aged 52, she was unmarried.
